Our goal is to create family and personal libraries that will last for generations.

William Bulmer Press was established out of a passion for books and English culture at the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries. We have a deep appreciation for both Jane Austen and Edmund Burke, as well as the architecture of James Watt, Francis Johnson, and John Soane. We admire the porcelain produced by Spode and Wedgwood, the typography of William Bulmer and John Bell, and the humor of Thomas Rowlandson, James Gillray, and Isaac Cruikshank. Above all, we cherish grand private libraries, which were once the centers of social and cultural life.

We strive to create books that embody this ideal world. To that end, we carefully print our books on small quantities of cotton paper and bind them by hand.
